Environmental Monitoring Presentation – “Rags to Riches” Conference January 19, 2012

Greetings Fellow PALMCOP-ers,
Last October Gina White and I conducted a presentation at the “Rags to Riches” Conference in Columbia which explained the approach used to justify the need for Winthrop University to invest in a more suitable storage facility for the archives. Some of you will recall that we used the Time Weighted Preservation Index (TWPI) as an important component of the justification.
The free online tool at http://www.pemdata.org/ , developed by the Image Permanence Institute and the free online tool developed by PEMdata web.
Anyway, I’ve included a copy of the PowerPoint presentation that was used during the presentation for those interested. The PowerPoint includes the presentation slides and notes, and includes a summarized format of recommended best practices, types of environmental assessments, summaries of assessments, complicating factors, and, short and long term solutions.
